Cesar’s Purlieu (Diner + Casino)

I renovated and added on to the run-down diner that came with Lucky Palms.  It was called The Sandy Place.  Now it’s called Cesar’s Purlieu, and it includes a full-service food register, coffee and snacks (chocolate fountain and gumball machine from the Sims 3 Store).  There’s also a bar and casino club in the basement–and NPC sims will actually play blackjack at the tables!

Here’s some screenshots of the renovated diner + casino.

You can download this community lot from my Studio at http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=6169611  Please leave a recommendation for me while you’re there 😉  As always, this lot is completely free of any third party custom content (cc), but does contain items from various Expansion Packs, Stuff Packs and the Sims 3 Store.

This community lot is set as a Hangout type, and is a level two business.  I hope you enjoy it!  Thanks for looking 🙂

Thank you so much! I’d been planning the renovation ever since the preview live chat for Lucky Palms was aired. I knew that old place would be fun to renovate! Thanks for your feedback 😀

Can you please tell me what content is required besides the casino items and does this lot work with decrapped store files?

Forgive me for being unable to reply sooner! This lot does include quite a lot of decor items from the Store, but most of them are just little touches and are not entirely necessary. The 50’s diner set is the most significant other than the casino items. The gumball machine is also in this lot, but it could easily be replaced by an arcade game or something you think looks cool in that spot. Other than that, there are just little touches from the store, such as the coat rack from the Jazz Age Living Room set and the giraffe statue from the Safari Living Set. The table lamps and some wall lights are from the Viva Las Vegas set, and some of the art from that set was also used in the casino part. I’m not familiar with decrapped Store files (LOL, that sounds good) but I can’t see why this lot wouldn’t work with them, if the decrapped items work in your game. It should be just fine, though I would like to know if you do have any issues because I’m just not familiar with decrapped items and I would add a notice to my uploads if there is any conflict with them at all.

I just tested it and this does not work with decrapped store items. They will not appear at all and the basement will just be empty with no slot machines or blackjack tables. I cannot say I am surprised as the lot would probably need to also have the items decrapped.

Decrapped items are basically the same as store items, but with the EA copy protection removed. If you want more information on this, seek out MATY (More Awesome Than You). No, it is not a paysite, it just looks like one.

Now I suddenly want to get a legit copy of the Lucky Simoleon Casino (or should I just get Lucky Palms GOLD?) from The Sims 3 Store.

      • enkeli63 says:

Decrapped would mean pirated then, so I am not surprised that there are conflicts with pirated content. If you do want to buy the casino, you can pick it up separate on the Sims 3 Store site, or you can get it as part of the Lucky Palms Gold Edition. If you don’t want/need the town, I recommend getting the casino separate. It is worth noting that I prefer Lucky Palms the most over all Sims 3 Store Worlds. If you want to get the town, you probably wont be disappointed at all with the Gold Edition. Have fun!

Actually, I found out that I don’t need to get the lot or world at all (I still might eventually though). A friend over at the Snooty Sims forums told me that all I had to do was decrapped the lot for it to detect the decrapped store items. I tested this on another world (Legacy Island II) which also uses the casino items and the Lucky Simoleon Casino items (minus the blackjack table oddly enough) went through and the lot had them. I might try it again with this lot whenever I’m in the mood to hunt down the addition content.

So I figured I’d inform you that for users with decrapped content. All they have to do is decrap this lot in order for it to recognize the decrapped store content.

Well that’s cool. You can enter contests and end up winning all the store content you could ever want though, if you’re interested in getting legit copies without a massive investment. The Gift Gathering & Thank Yous forum on the Sims 3 site always has lots of building contests, lotteries and giveaways. Participating there can lead to a full collection of awesome store stuff just for sharing builds, entering lotteries, etc! I highly recommend it 🙂

      • Tim Collins says:

Yeah, you see, I lack all creative talent for contests and I lack the patience to finish a house. This wouldn’t be such a problem if finding houses and lots to find my playing needs was difficult. Which is why I wish I were actually good at creating stuff. I guess it’s always gonna be decrapped content for me. I still might buy the casino lot though since apparently the damn blackjack doesn’t get recognized. Which I do not understand since the item is no different than if you purchase it from the store. Decrapping just removes EA’s DRM.

      • enkeli63 says:

Actually, there’s a possibility that the blackjack table has been modified by a store content patch. When the casino first came out, sims were not really attracted to the blackjack table so you couldn’t play with any townies at the table when it first came out. I’m pretty sure they tweaked it with a store update, so the version you have wouldn’t have the update.

  4. Tim Collins says:

I just did a test with another lot which uses the slot machine and blackjack (only two store content) and both items showed up so now I assume for that one particular lot. There was another item I didn’t have in it which got replaced with a proxy. But did the blackjack table when first released ever have white voxels whenever the sim went to play it? I assumed this was just a bug with the decrapped version which required the KT Store Fixes which I heard is also used for pre-decrapped copies of the items as well.

    • enkeli63 says:

The original legit version didn’t have any visual glitches like that when sims used it, so there was probably something bugged with your first copy.
